course it would work for double layer, just be careful to keep them perfectly lined up while doing it I'd love to see your version

i love the fact that you said NOT TO STRETCH THE FABRIC... i have no idea how many patterns for shirring i've read and found and NONE of them mention this... i'm soooo happy i did before i started in on this pattern!!! i wonder if you could do this with double layer fabric? i have this sheet that would be awesome as one of these dresses, but it's thin...

Nope, you just use it for the bobbin just make sure you don't stretch it when you wrap it around (so its best to do it by hand) and it should work just fine!

for shirring, do you use elastic as the top thread too? Sorry for a stupid question, but I'm kinda stupid like that
