Instructions

  1. Lace Pattern: • Row 1: [k1, yo, ssk, k7, k2tog, yo] eight times • Row 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22: knit to end of row • Row 3: [k2, yo, ssk, k5, k2tog, yo, k1] eight times • Row 5: [k1, yo, ssk, yo, ssk, k3, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo] eight times • Row 7: [k2, yo, ssk, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k2tog, yo, k1] eight times • Row 9: [k3, yo, ssk, yo, s2kp, yo, k2tog, yo, k2] eight times • Row 11: [k4, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k3] eight times • Row 13: [k5, yo, s2kp, yo, k4] eight times • Repeat rows 1-22 for pattern

  2. Instructions: Bag • With crochet hook and waste yarn, provisionally cast on 96 sts • With circular needle, work rows 1-22 of lace chart for 4 reps • Work 10 rows of garter st (k 1 round, p 1 round) • BO loosely knitwise

  3. Bottom • Unzip provisional cast on, placing sts on circular needles, pm every 12 sts • Purl across (turning ridge) • Next Round: *k to 2 sts before marker, k2tog* repeat to end of round – 12 sts decreased • Next Round: knit • Repeat last 2 rounds, switching to DPNs when necessary until 8 sts remain • Break yarn, leaving long tail, weave tail through remaining sts, cinch shut

  4. Strap • Pick up and knit 12 sts with DPNs at top of one side of bag • Work garter st for 22” or until desired length is reached • BO knitwise, leaving long tail • Whip st end of strap to opposite side of bag on WS

  5. Finishing • Weave in all loose ends with tapestry needle • Block
