Easy project + Jersey + sewing machine = wicked dress x confidence in sewing!
I made this in less than 2 hours and I'm fairly new to sewing. I followed the directions found on this handy tutorial by GiannyL (I think she's on here somewhere) http://youtu.be/JjEG-W8bE0I. I did modify the skirt a bit to have just a single seam instead of two. Because I'm a lazy, and the fewer seams the better, in my book. There's a zillion ways to wear this thing. This is the first of many that I will be sewing for the summer. You will need approximately 1.5-4 yards of fabric for this project, depending on your measurements. I wear a US size 14 and I used about 2 yards. Also, be sure use a ball point needle in your machine... the stretchy jersey will be THAT much easier to sew!

@ Naomi: The jersey I used was like 54" wide so I just measured out how long I wanted my skirt, folded the fabric, cut, then I sewed up the side opposite of the fold. I positioned the seam in the back, opposite of the straps. I'm a total noob when it comes to sewing, but this project really did take less than two hours for me to complete. To those who are reading this right now, I would highly suggest checking out the video (if you haven't already) that I posted above it helped me out LOADS.

It really only took 1 hour 47 minutes? I bought fabric for this dress a few years ago but was intimidated by the instructions.....how did you get only 1 seam in the skirt? I am so intrigued....
