About

I love drop biscuits. They were my mothers go-to whenever it came to quick breakfasts or easy sides. Most people serve pasta or rice, my mother served drop biscuits. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve eaten these with a side of scrambled eggs as a start to my day or even as dinner. When you’re sick and you can’t stomach much, you get biscuits (or cream of wheat). When you’re in a rush for breakfast, you get biscuits. Basically biscuits were the panacea for all occasions in our house.

You Will Need (5 things)

  • 1 ½ cup Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Stick Butter
  • ¾ cup Buttermilk
  • ½ tsp Salt

Steps (3 steps, 25 minutes)

  1. 1

Combine your dry ingredients and your butter in your food processor until it becomes a crumbly dough almost like sand.

  2. 2

Then place that into a bowl and add in your buttermilk until your dough becomes less “sticky” and more “shaggy”.

  3. 3

Then scoop out your dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 (depending on how big your biscuits are) )minutes at 400 F. Our oven is so crappy that I cooked them about ten minutes then turned the pan.
