Description

Doughnuts are the best! Making these doughnut earrings out of polymer clay is easier than it looks!

Instructions

  1. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 182848 1img 6832 fix1

The materials you need are three different colours of polymer clay. You need a pencil or paintbrush (we're going to use the back or it), a blade or a knife, two eye pins and two earring hooks.

  2. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183527 2img 6835 fix

Start by rolling out the colour you've chosen for the actual doughnut (beige in this case) into two small round balls.

  3. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183614 3img 6836 fix

Flatten your two balls to two discs.

  4. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183640 4img 6838 fix

Use the back side of your paintbrush and make a hole in the middle of the discs.

  5. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183710 5img 6844 fix

It should look something like this.

  6. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183729 6img 6845 fix

Now take the polymer clay you intend to use as the frosting (pink) and roll it into two balls.

  7. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183811 7img 6846 fix

Flatten out the pink polymer clay.

  8. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183855 8img 6849 fix

The pink polymer clay should be made really thin.

  9. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 183923 9img 6850 fix

Place the thinned out pink clay over your doughnut and fix the edges so it lies down on the doughnut.

  10. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184002 10img 6853 fix

Use your paintbrush again and make a hole also in the frosting.

  11. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184044 11collagey

Do the same thing with the other doughnut.

  12. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184108 12img 6860 fix

Roll out the third colour (white) of polymer clay into a really really thin snake or cylinder. This will become your sprinkles.

  13. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184157 13img 6862 fix

Cut out short pieces of the white clay.

  14. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184242 14img 6864 fix

And place the short pieces of the white clay, the sprinkles, on the frosting of the doughnut.

  15. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184318 15img 6869 fix

Cut your eye pins so that they are an appropriate length, and place them into the doughnuts at an angle.

  16. Small 115236 2f2016 10 23 184423 16img 6872 fix

After you've placed the eye pins in the doughnuts, bake the polymer clay doughnuts according to the polymer clay packaging. This differs between different brands of polymer clay, so make sure to read on the packaging.

  17. Small 115236 2f2016 11 26 180406 img 8585 fix

Add the earring hooks to the eye of the eye pins, and your earrings are ready to be worn.
