"Doudou" is the french word that describes an object or stuffed toy to which a child grows attached to.
A small blanket for your baby to explore. The small ribbons allow the baby to experience different colours and textures. They also work great if the baby is teething, he can chew on them all day long!

Step 1Cut two pieces of fabric 25cm x 25cm (9.8" x 9.8"). Place them right sides together (RST).

Step 2Cut the ribbons in different sizes from 2cm (0.8") to 4cm (1.6"). For this tutorial, each side of the square will have 5 ribbons, which makes 20 ribbons in total.

Step 3Fold your ribbons in half, wrong sides together (WST) and place them between the two pieces of fabric. The fabrics are still RST. Sew all around the square, leaving a small gap, between two of the ribbons, to turn right side out (RSO).
As an option, you can backstitch each ribbon, to strengthen the seam, so it won't rip when pulling. -
Step 4Turn RSO and press well.

Step 5Close the gap by hand stitching or by edge stitching all around.
And you are done!
