The doctor has arrived
After making my first Doktor Schnabel, I decided that I needed to make a darker, more true to life doktor Schnabel.
Now I generally love crayola air dry clay but for some reason a whole crop of my dolls never dried correctly and just fell apart into dust :/ I'm not saying its a bad product, however I will say it must have been a bad batch of clay. If u come across this problem this is what u should do: lay ur project out and add, drop by drop liquid super glue in all the cracks. This will secure most of ur details so u can apply a thin layer of paper mache to it then repaint. It beats tossing ur project out.
I started out as I always do, with a plastic ball that I add a layer of paper mache to, after its dry I sculpt the face and allow it to dry. The body is an oblong piece of wood (look at my cave cutie doll for visual details on assembly) the arms and legs are dowels secured with wire. His gloved hands ans shoes are made of black model magic. His coat is handstitched. His bag I made with a scrap of leather and his tools are old xacto blades with wooden handles added.
