Doggy Treats Bag

Add some creativity to dog training!

Carrying treats around in your pockets is not nice! Russeling around in a plastic bag for treats disrupts training.

This pouch can be easily opened and sealed and can be attached to a belt. Which means you don't have to look away from the dog keeping him/her focused. The ribbon can be tied around the bag to properly seal it when it is not in use and to keep the treats fresh.

This is a prototype that I will use in training. I'm thinking about showing these to people and hopefully getting some orders for them!

You Will Need (7 things)

  • Fabric
  • Fabric Pen (s)or a Pencil
  • Felt
  • Ribbon
  • 1 Button(s)
  • Needle
  • Thread

Steps (8 steps, 180 minutes)

  1. 1

Cut out a rectangle of fabric to you desiered size.

  2. 2

Cut holes along an inch or so down from the top and sew around the edges of the holes. I cut 5 holes but there really needs to be an even number for the drawstring to work properly.

  3. 3

Cut out a paw print design in felt and sew on. You could do a bone design or a collar or anything, it doesn't even have to be dog related if you just want a pouch.

  4. 4

Cut a small rectangle out of the fabric and seam up. This will attach to a belt. Sew a cm at the top and the bottom onto the fabric. Sew it quite high up on the fabric, mine is lower down and it makes the pouch lean forward so higher up is better.

  5. 5

Sew a seam at the top.

  6. 6

Sew the left and right sides together inside out.

  7. 7

Sew a seam at the bottom, again inside out.

  8. 8

Thread the ribbon through the holes and then thread the ends of the ribbon through a button to seal and reseal the bag easily. And done!
