Description

Create these cute and crafty yarn embellished cards for friends and family. Great for any occasion - Christmas, Birthdays, or any holiday - and, best of all, made with love!

Instructions

  1. Small materials2

For this craft project, you will need the following: •yarn •plain white cards •glue gun •pencil •eraser •ruler (or anything with a straight edge) •scissors

  2. Small outlining the pattern

First, sketch out the patterns you wish to create on your card. For this project, I decided to create simple colour blocked patterns by drawing two lines across the bottom portion of the card, creating triangular shapes.

  3. Small add first strip of glue

Start by adding a thin line of glue along the bottom edge of your first card.

  4. Small add first yarn to strip

Press the yarn on the glue. Hot glue dries quickly, so be sure to add the yarn immediately after applying the glue.

  5. Small push with back of pencil

Continue adding glue and securing your yarn, moving back and forth along the card.

  6. Small cut looped yarn edge off

Once you have filled in the colour block, cut the ends off with scissors.

  7. Small first block of colour complete

Your first colour block should look something like this.

  8. Small written word

Once you have filled in each of your triangles with a different color yarn, add your greeting by drawing it out first.

  9. Small gluing yarn to the word

Now, begin gluing and securing yarn to your word.

  10. Small joy complete2

Tip: For best results, use cursive writing so that the lettering is fluid with fewer cuts to be made.

Once that’s done, stand back and admire your sweet little DIY yarn embellished cards :)
