Instructions

  1. Small 2018 05 24 160707 ohne%2btitel

Start by cutting the fabric to 140 x 52 cm (this measurement is for a medium size). Also cut two 70 x 6 cm long ribbons from your fabric (this is going to be the part of the waistband, which you can tie into a bow).

Now serge the border from your skirt and finish the edges by sewing a hem. Also sew the waistband with 6 cm width, by wrapping the fabric.

Wrap your skirt around your waist and take a look at where you want to sew on the button. The button makes sure your skirt has a better hold on your waist. I sewed the button on the left end of my skirt, so it will be fixed on the right side of my waist. And don't forget to make a button hole on the opposite side of the skirt.

Fold the ribbon together lengthwise, sew the two halves together and then turn them inside out so you have a neat band. Finish the ends nicely. Repeat it with the second band.

Now sew one band on the right end of your skirt and the other in the middle of your skirt. Remember to sew them on the outside and only for about 4 cm so you can tie them together and fix the skirt on your waist.
