Based on Diy T Shirt Skirt by Bridgette W.
I made this skirt a year ago but it is the same sort of concept. It is a great way to upcycle clothing into a new to you skirt. By using the existing top of pants or even another skirt, you save yourself a lot of the headaches with pocket placement and the like.

It is made from stuff I already had on hand
- A pair of sweatpants (top)
- A pair of jeans (center)
- Boys l/s shirt (bottom)

I had a pair of sweatpants with holes in the legs and seat and cut it off just below the pockets.

I then cut up the jeans in to about 14 in. strips then sewed them together for the center (with gathering at the top)

For the bottom I cut up my son's too small button down shirt (I left the button on for added interest to the garment) into about 10 in. strip, sewed them together with gathering at the top) then sewed all of the layer together.

Not pictured (when I find the skirt when I pull out my summer stuff I will post it) is I added a white organza ruffled valance to the bottom layer to make it much longer and more swingy and it looks much better that way.
