How to make a headband out of an old t-shirt.

By tying two strips of an old t-shirt, or any stretchy fabric, into a Celtic knot you can quickly and easily create your own unique headband. Headbands can also be made for little ones; this is a great mommy & me project!

Description

By tying two strips of an old t-shirt, or any stretchy fabric, into a Celtic knot you can quickly and easily create your own unique headband. Headbands can also be made for little ones; this is a great mommy & me project!

Instructions

    Horizontally cut 2 strips, about 2 inches wide, out of your t-shirt. Pull on the seams at the edge of each piece to make the material curl, as shown.

    To tie the Celtic knot, take the 1st strip and place it in an upside-down U-shape, then cross the right side of the strip on top of the left side of the strip.

    Take the 2nd strip and place it in a U-shape with left side of the strip on top of the left side of the 1st strip and the right side of the 2nd strip underneath the right side of the 1st strip.

    Take the left side of the 2nd strip and place it underneath the loop of the 1st strip.

    Take the right side of the 2nd strip and cross it underneath the left side of the 2nd strip, but on top of the loop of the 1st strip.

    Gently pull on the ends of each strip and tighten the knot.

    Cut the seams off of the ends of the strips and cut out a rectangular piece of the t-shirt. Place the rectangular piece of the t-shirt under the ends of the strips.

    Adhere everything together with the glue gun and wrap the rectangle around the strips, binding the ends together.
