A cheap, easy and stylish jewelry project with fabric stiffener.
If you don't count the interminable drying time, this adorable ribbon bow necklace takes 5 minutes to make, and doesn't require much supplies or skills.

Step 1Cut a short piece of ribbon. Mine was about 7". Tie a classic bow and snip the ends of the ribbon.

Step 2Use a paintbrush to apply fabric stiffener all over the ribbon. Let dry. Drying time is quite long- mine took about 10 hours.

Step 3Once it's dry, spray paint it in gold (or any color you fancy), or dip it into liquid gold leaf. Let dry.
Optional: add a layer of clear nail polish or acrylic varnish to protect the paint.

Step 4With a needle, make two holes in the bow (one on the left side and the other on the right side).

Step 5Add two jump rings.

Step 6Attach the bow charm to the chain.

Step 7And that's it! I love that it has the look and texture of fabric, yet is sturdy and holds well. Hope you'll enjoy it!
