Got a Paranda simply lying around your house and you don't know what to do with it, try making a headband out of it
Paranda, also known as Indian hair extension. Those of us with an Indian subcontinent background would have this lying around somewhere in our house, and so did I. However, to be honest the paranda belongs to my sister-in-law and she hasn’t even used it once, lets just say the opportunity never showed up and its been lying around since FOREVER. Well, now that its been of no use being a paranda, why not take this opportunity to make a DIY Paranda headband! So shall we begin. ^_^

    You will need the following:

    Step 2

To begin with, DO NOT cut out the ends of the paranda. Reason, because the paranda at times is loosely tied and if you do cut up its ends, you will ruin its design and may end up loosing its beads as well. So stitch up tightly one end of the elastic with the desired end of paranda.

Once you have done that, go on and cut the ends of the paranda right below the stitch. Now that you have secured the paranda with the elastic, its time that we cover up those nasty ends. Now take the piece of cloth you’ve got and cut it in half, this will be used to cover up the stitches and give it a clean and a professional look.

Once you’ve cut up the pieces, take one piece and fold its ends inwards, and then place it beneath the paranda. This way the ends will look smooth and neat.

    Step 5

Take one side, fold it in, and then stitch it up nice and snug. However, make sure while you are stitching, you don’t stitch up the elastic band as well. Otherwise, once you start wearing it over a period of time the piece of cloth will tear up.

Now move on and stitch up the other side over it, if you find that the piece is a bit too long, just fold it in or simply cut out the extra bit.Once you are done stitching it up here is how it should look
    And you are done!!
