Get your name in lights with this simple marquee letter DIY
I really wanted a marquee letter for our new apartment, but I didn't want to break the bank with a vintage version, or buy crazy new tools to make my own. So, I got crafty and came up with a super simple version that you'll love!

  • How to make a letter. Diy Marquee Letter - Step 1
    Step 1

    Trace along the outside of a cardboard letter with an Exacto knife, and guts the inside.

    Step 2

    Use the bulb casing to get a layout of where the lights will sit, then make X's in the cardboard the for bulb casing to fit snuggly into.

    Step 3

    Spray paint the letter your color of choice, and the insert the lights and casing into place and tuck the excess cords in the back.

Wouldn't the lights get hot and having a cardboard letter next to them be a fire hazard?

This is awesome!!! I'm getting married in April and might have to make one to use for decoration and then for our apartment! Love it!
