Lace insert in back of the t-shirt, easy project
Growing up, I was never a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. I always preferred dresses, cardigans and sweaters. There are times when I would not have a single t-shirt in my closet, save the smelly ones i use for my workout. But after having a baby, I am tending toward having more and more comfy clothes that are easy to clean. But the girly part of me can’t stand turning t-shirts into a regular part of my wardrobe. But i did find this little way to bring up the acceptableness (real word?) of the comfy top. I love this little DIY lace insert to personalize any t-shirt you have.

Step 1
What you need -
- T-shirt of your choice
- Lace. Here I used a polyester stretch lace in cream color.
Step 2
I wore the t-shirt in front of the mirror and marked the new neckline with a tailor’s chalk.
Step 3
Widen neckline. Using a french curve will be very helpful.
Step 4
With the fabrics you cut out at step 3, make a bias tape to finish the new neckline.
Step 5
Draw a line for lace insertion in the back.
Step 6
Cur out the line you drew in the step #5.
Step 7
Cut the lace in the shape of what you cut out in the step #5, and finish the neckline. Make sure to add the seam allowances.
Step 8
Attach the lace to the T-shirt.
Step 9
Picture of the tshirt after the lace insertion.
Step 10
If you want, you can fold up the sleeves and sew the top and bottom edges to change things up a bit!
