Have you seen Anthropologie's fabric hanging light cord? Well know you can make your own DIY Hanging Light, inspired by theirs, for a lot less money.

    Step 1

    I found a white 12′ hanging light cord from amazon for less then $9 that I knew would meet my needs perfectly. Once I got it home I turned it on to see if the cord got hot when the light was turned on. Thankfully the cord didn’t get hot so I knew I could safely wrap yarn around it.

    While at a thrift store I found a bag of yarn with a beautiful teal color and bought it for this project for under $3. Swoop!

    It took me about an hour to wrap the yarn around the cord, up until the on-off switch, which was about 3ft from the end. Thankfully the way I am hanging the light, I didn’t need to cover more of the cord, because, really, that was a lot of work.

    I tied the yarn into a knot at the end and it didn’t unravel or look weird and paired it with my DIY Copper Dipped Light Bulb.
