Diy Glitter Converse

Daytime Glitter!

I used to have an obsession with converse, so these ones were looking quite average, and as they were brown it was a bit of a difficult colour to pair anything with... So after doing my Glitter wedges I decided why not fix up these babies!! I originally wanted to cover the entire shoe with fine glitter but after a few coats of paint I decided I liked the look of the shoe and always thought I could add the other glitter later!

I used to have an obsession with converse, so these ones were looking quite average, and as they were brown it was a bit of a difficult colour to pair anything with... Instructions

  1. Small .img 0744

    Gather your materials

  2. Small .img 0739

    Including your shoes

  3. Small .img 0741

    Remove the laces

  4. Stuff the shoe with newspaper to avoid getting paint on the inside of the shoe

  5. Small .img 0742

Tape the section of the shoe you want to paint. Press down hard so no paint can seep into the section you want to be kept clean (try and be very precise)

  6. Small .img 0745

Begin painting, use a large brush for the larger section of the shoes

  7. Small .img 0747

Paint paint paint. It can be messy as you can always do another coat, avoid getting the sole of the shoe and the inside

  8. Small .img 0748

    Paint

  9. Small .img 0753

Use a small brush for the precise areas (logo) be careful, if you get any on the section you want to be kept clean use a damp cloth to wipe away the paint as soon as possible

  10. Small .img 0755

    Glitter paint, yay!

  11. Small .img 0758

    Glitter, glitter, glitter

  12. Fix up any areas that are obviously uneven, peel away the tape being careful to not pull any of the paint off

Finished! You can dye the laces to match the new colour, or if you wanted a more glitzy look add some fine glitter (see my DIY Glitter wedge tutorial for these steps) Enjoy!
