One of my very favorite things to wear is a bulldog tee shirt that I screenprinted myself, using stuff I had around the house. Screenprinting sounds kind of scary, but trust me -- it's a simple process. And not to toot my own horn or anything, but this tee gets all kinds of attention when I wear it out on the town! I love to dress it up with my favorite tuxedo jacket and some bling.

Instructions

  1. Small img 1502

First, print out a design you'd like to screenprint. I chose a bulldog, but any design will do! Simple designs in black ink work best. Gather your sheer material, embroidery hoop, and Sharpie.

  2. Small img 1507

Secure the fabric in the embroidery hoop and trace the image onto the fabric with your Sharpie.

Using a small brush, Mod Podge all of the areas where you DON'T want paint to appear. Cover all of the negative space. Let one layer of Mod Podge dry thoroughly and apply another layer until the glue is thick enough that no paint will seep through those areas. Let dry completely.

Place screen on your tee and ensure that it's in the right area.

  5. Small img 1527

Gently push paint through the screen with a heavily loaded sponge brush. Be careful not to move the screen during the process.

Carefully lift the screen straight off of the t-shirt. Let your design dry and then rock it out!
