A simple and easy tutorial to get a necklace similar to an Anthropologie necklace for a fraction of the price!

Instructions

Follow the tutorial video to make the turk's head knot. I followed the rope around three times so I ended up with three sections each. Once you have the turk's head knot complete, work with it so it is flattened out like the picture. Also make sure that where you end the last loop it is in the same area as the other rope end so you can make the necklace.

Cut the ends so they are the same length.

  3. Small img 8749

Tie two knots so you end up with two looped ends to connect the chain to.

OPTIONAL: Apply some fabric glue so the knots are secure and in the right place.

  5. Small img 8751

Attach a jump ring to both loops and then attach the chain to each jump ring.

Attach the jump rings and lobster clasp.

Follow the directions with whatever fabric dye you choose, I used Rit Liquid Dye in Petal Pink. I combined 2 cups of water with 1/2 cup of dye and boiled it on the stove. Once it reached a boil, I dipped my necklace in as high as I wanted the dye to go. I did this a few times to get some parts darker. Let it dry & you're done!
