About

These clay earrings are both super simple to make and very cost effective! I recently fell in love with the ombre trend, so I have been constantly thinking about how to add more ombre into my life. These pink ombre clay earrings were the holy grail!

You Will Need (5 things)

  • Paint Brush
  • Watercolor paints
  • Ear Hooks
  • Eye Pins
  • Self-hardening Clay

Steps (5 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Roll out your clay to make it nice and soft. Add a bit of water if necessary to make it easy to sculpt.

  2. 2

With your hands, sculpt the clay into two long rectangles.

  3. 3

    Insert eye pin into each.

  4. 4

While still wet, start painting with watercolors. Watercolor paints have a very "airy" effect. Start with the bottom with heavy color and add more and more water as you go up, creating that perfect ombre.

  5. 5

Let dry. Feel free to touch up with paint to finalize the look. Once dry completely, just add ear hooks and try them on!
