Instructions

I needed a gift for a crafty friend. With little money to spend. I wanted to make this project using items that I had around the house.

  2. Small 3 1322958794

I made vanilla mint sachets with scraps of Holiday fabric. 1-tsp pure vanilla extract 1/2-tsp peppermint extract 1/4-cup dried mint 1-pound sea salt 1-pound dry white rice Mix it well and let it dry overnight (or in the microwave for 2 minutes). Place 1 tablespoon into an approximately 4" square piece of cotton fabric. Tie with ribbon.

*This thrift store mug has hand blended tea from a local crafter. Warm cinnamon and cardamom tea. YUM! *The sewing kit is several sewing items in a glass spaghetti sauce jar covered in a Holiday doily. *The handmade soap is from a local crafter is Lemon Verbena.

*The rice bag is a 1 foot square piece of holiday cotton. I folded it in half, and stitched it on 2 sides. Turn it right side out, and iron flat. fill with 2 cups of white rice, and sew the last side closed. It can be heated in the microwave for 2 minutes, and used as a heating pad. The kitchen witch potpourri broom is simply a cinnamon stick with dried lemon gass tied on for bristles. I hot glued on a magnet, so it can be stuck on the refrigerator.

I placed the items into the hat box. I covered the top with fabric, and sponge painted the bottom. I used old Scrabble tiles to personalize it.
