The perfect cake idea for little ones who love dinosaurs - add as many dinosaur models as you like. This is a fun cake to make, which involves lots of chocolate so the kids will enjoy helping to create as well.
The perfect cake idea for little ones who love dinosaurs - add as many dinosaur models as you like. This is a fun cake to make, which involves lots of chocolate so the kids will enjoy helping to create as well.
Bake a chocolate cake and sandwich it with chocolate buttercream. Roll out a piece of chocolate sugarpaste and stick it to the top of the cake, trim the edges.
Spread chocolate buttercream thickly around the sides and stick the chocolate sticks all around, break them off at different lengths. Tip: Chocolate fingers can also be used around the side of the cake
Continue until all the sides of the cake are covered in sticks; make sure they are pushed well into the buttercream so they don’t fall off.
Spread a really generous quantity of chocolate buttercream all over the board with a palette knife.
Stick lots of ‘dinosaur egg’ jelly beans and chocolate buttons into the chocolate buttercream.
Create a dinosaur using sugarpaste (from some of my other recipe ideas), or use a toy dinosaur if you prefer.
Place the dinosaur of your choice into the cage and stick it in place with a little buttercream
