Deliciously Simple Vanilla Buttercream

Quick, easy, and delicious buttercream that you'll be eating out of the bowl with a spoon!

You Will Need (4 things)

  • 6 cup Icing Sugar (sifted)
  • 2 cup Butter (room temperature)
  • 4 tbsp Whipping Cream
  • 2 tsp Vanilla (or flavouring of your choice)

Steps (8 steps, 15 minutes)

    Prepare a stand mixer with a whisk attachment.

    Whisk butter until creamy.

  3. 3

    Reduce speed to low and add in icing sugar 1 cup at a time until well blended.

    Increase speed to med and beat for 3 minutes.

    Add vanilla and 2tbsp cream and continue to beat on medium for 1 minute.

    Add more cream as needed until desired consistency is reached (I added all 4).

    I whipped this for a few minutes longer as I was determined to get rid of the graininess.

    Frost on a cool cake and chill.
    *This made enough to frost the rosette cake pictured but would likely be too much if you're just looking to do a regular frosting on a 2 layer cake. If so, I would suggest cutting this recipe in half.
