Description

Turn a wine or any old glass bottle into a nice piece of art for dried or silk flowers or just something to add color to your shelf.

Instructions

Start with a clean glass bottle of any size and shape, mine is a wine bottle, but you can use a soda bottle or any other bottle made of glass. This includes removing the label. Tear the map into pieces of various sizes from dime size to about 2 inches.

Starting one small section at a time and at the bottom, paint the modge podge (or any decoupage glue) on the bottle and place the torn map pieces on (starting with larger pieces), painting over them with the glue as you go. When you get to the part that narrows into the neck, start using the smaller pieces. Smooth out any bubbles and press the paper into the creases with your fingers.

When I finished my bottle with the map pieces I cut pictures from the back of a Wyoming state map and layered them on as well. You can use any state you want or just leave the torn map pieces as they are. Wyoming is my home state, so you can use your home state if you want. The map you use will dictate the color. Mine just happened to have a lot of orange and blue.
