Description

Make your very own wearable art with these decoupaged pins.

Instructions

  1. Small 114513 2f2016 06 13 061702 1347915942rb2

First, paint your wooden shape a solid color. Tip: if you’re gonna do a solid-glitter background, first paint wooden shape with a matte base the same color as the glitter to create a more cohesive look.

Next, get out your collage materials! In this tutorial I'm using inkjet print-outs of some favorite images I found on the web.

  3. Small 114513 2f2016 06 13 061813 1347916122rb4

You can use the badge base as a background, or you can use it as a foundation and create a background from cut-out images, fabric scraps, etc.

  4. Small 114513 2f2016 06 13 061818 1347915970rb5

Start the decoupaging process by applying a thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of all the papery things you want to include on your badge.

Place the image(s) on the badge, and smooth out any air bubbles with your fingers.

  6. Small 114513 2f2016 06 13 061830 1347916016rb8

Add on glitter & confetti if you'd like, and seal everything in with a generous layer of Mod Podge.

After you apply the Mod Podge, set your badge aside to dry completely.

  8. Small 114513 2f2016 06 13 061851 resin

As a finishing touch, apply a layer of dimensional glue or epoxy resin over the surface of your brooch.

  9. Small 114513 2f2016 06 13 061857 1347916058rb12

Lastly, glue a bar pin to the back with a little bit of E6000.

    All done!
