You Will Need (7 things)

  • Timid Lashes False Eyelashes
  • Pink Lipstick
  • Blusher
  • Liquid Eyeliner
  • Cream Eyeshadow Pencil
  • Foundation Brush
  • Foundation

Steps (6 steps, 15 minutes)

  1. 1

First, apply your everyday foundation. This is a quick and easy look, but I suggest you use a brush to apply it because I find it really helps to give that soft and smooth look that's perfect for a fresh pin-up style. (If you're not used to using a brush, it's an easy habit to pick up!)

Secondly, use a cream eyeshadow pencil all over your lid. To open up the eyes and make them pop, I also like to add a little bit extra in the inside corners. I really like eyeshadow pencils for daytime because they're so easy to use and save a bit of time. Because this is a simple look, we're not going to bother with adding any more shading.

Next, use liquid eyeliner to create a sharp pin-up flick. A trick I like to use is to first outline the flick using a pencil liner. This way, you can get both sides even, redrawing if necessary, then just trace them with the liquid liner. Another tip is to use the pencil as an angle guide - I like to angle my flicks up towards the end of my eyebrows.

Here's a fun bit. Although this is a simple look, adding some beautiful lashes will give it that extra pin-up pretty factor without going too overboard on the drama for daytime. I'm using Timid Lashes in Zoey, which are a perfect shape for pin-up looks.

When using eyelashes, I like to bend and flex them a little bit first before I add the glue, to make sure they'll be pliable enough for the shape of my eyes. Then, after adding the glue all along the edge and waiting a minute or so for it to become tacky, I press the lash on, meeting my lash line. Don't be afraid to touch it to make sure it is on securely.

At this stage, you can also add a little bit of mascara on your bottom lashes.

Now add some blusher. Choose a shade that matches your skin tone. I've gone for a light pink and applied it to the apples of my cheeks. Blusher really helps make this look, adding a pretty pinup freshness.

Finally, although a lot of pinup looks use red lipstick, today I've chosen a medium pink which keeps the look fresh and sweet for daytime.
