Instructions

    For the head and body .Make 2ch .Round 1: 6dc in second ch from hook .Round 2: 2dc in each st (12sts) .Round 3: *1dc in next stitch,2dc in next stich, rep from* to end (18sts) .Round 4: *1 dc in next 2 stiches 2 dc in next st, rep again to end .Round 5: 1dc in next 3 stitches and 2 dc in next stitch (30sts) .Round 6-13, 1dc in each stitch .Round 14: 1dc in next 3 stitches, dc2tog, erp to end (24sts) .Round 15: 1dc in next 2 stitches, dc2tog, rep to end (18sts) .Round16 1 dc in each stitch. insert safety eyes or make lots of loops with some wool as I didn't have any left. Firmly stuff the body. .Round 17: 1 dc in next stitch, 2dctog rep to end (12) .Round 18: dc2tog around till opening is closed.

  2. For the legs, make 8 of the same colour. mine are different as I ran out of the lighter colour. The choise is yours. .Make chain 2ch .Round 1: 4dc in second chain from hook .Round 2: 2dc in each st (8sts) .Round 3: 1dc in in st till leg measures around 6cm (2 1/2") Now pin in position and sew to body Now add some face details if you like with a bit of wool

For the sailors hat (optional) .make ch2 .Round 1: 6dc in second chain from hook .Round 2 dc in eah st (12sts) .Round 3: 1dc in next st, dc in next st, rep to end (18sts) .Round 4: 4-6 dc in each st .Round 7: 2 dc in each st (36sts) .Round 8: dc2tog around (18sts) .Round 9: 1dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, rep to end .Round 10: 1 dc in nxt 2 sts, 2 dc in next sts, rep to end .Round 11: 1dc in each st, to last stitch, ss and fasten off. Push the centre in the hat up and curl around at the sides. Embroider an anchor shape ontop then sew on the head at a jaunty angle.
