Turn old shirts into a cute throw pillow :)
I'm just guessing this would take 2 hours if I had a sewing machine. Mine broke right at the beginning, so this took a lot longer to complete. When I get it fixed, I'm tearing out all my hand stitching and replacing it.

Pictures for the how-tos coming soon.

  • Step 1

Get your 2 shirts ready. They need to be basically the same size. We are going to call the shirt you are using as the middle stripe 'Shirt A' and the shirt you are using for the outside stripes 'Shirt B'.

  • Step 2

    Turn the shirts inside out.

  • Step 3

Cut the bottom hems off both shirts. Take the hem of shirt B and cut the stitching off. This (the stitching) is what you are using for the bow, so save it.

  • Step 4

Measure & mark 2 4" strips- 2 on shirt B and 1 on shirt A. Cut the strips. Now cut each strips in half along the natural creases of the shirt, to make them easier to work with.

  • Step 5

Sew the middle of your "ribbon" to the center of one of the shirt A strips. Pin it into the center so it doesn't get in the way later.

  • Step 6

Pin all the pieces together 2 make the 2 sides. Sew the strips together, then (making sure the wrong sides are out) pin and sew the 2 sides together. Leave a hole for stuffing.

  • Step 7

Stuff the pillow and sew the hole shut. Unpin the ribbon and tie it up in a bow. Voila!

I cut up the remaining parts of the shirts and mixed it in with my stuffing to add firmness. You can do this or save the scraps for another project.
