Make them personalised!

About

This is a really simple project, it might take a bit of time for the glue and paint to dry, but it's all worth it!
I hope you like it :)

(it took 4 hours including drying time and overnight gluing)

You Will Need (6 things)

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • White Paint
  • Fusible Interfacing
  • PVA Glue
  • Wooden Pegs
  • Fabric scraps

Steps (8 steps, 240 minutes)

  1. 1

So first, collect your pegs. I only did 6 for my friend because I didn't want her having loads of pegs lying around her uni room with no purpose. Paint them white all over, and do two coats if you feel it's necessary.

  2. 2

Take your scraps of fabric and iron a strong interfacing onto the back

  3. 3

Draw a butterfly onto the back of the fabric and cut it out and neatly as you can.

  4. 4

Cover one side with PVA glue to make it strong. Once that side is dry (ideally leave it overnight), cover the other side with the same amount of glue. While it dried, mine did curl a lot, so when both sieds were painted I left them underneath a heavy book while I was at school.

  5. 5

Using your hot glue gun, draw a line of glue down the centre of the back of the butterfly and quickly stick it onto the peg.

  6. 6

Hold it down for about 10 seconds and your peg is done!
Repeat these steps for all of your pegs

  7. 7

Tape down the fabric butterflies overnight again so make sure that they don't curl over any more.
