Description

These owls are so cute and easy to make! They are good for bag charms, christmas tree decorations and small presents.

Instructions

  1. Small sdc10896 1260786380

Draw an arch shape to be as big as you want the body of your owl to be, on a scrap piece of paper. Cut it out and choose what fabric you will use for the body.

  2. Small sdc10897 1260786437

Fold the patterned fabric in half with the right side inside and pin the owl template to it. Draw round the template in a pencil or pen, it should be faint but seeable.

  3. Small sdc10898 1260786432

Cut around the template but cut 1cm around.

  4. Small sdc10901 1260786640

On the line you have drawn sew a running stitch around the arch but leave the bottom end open so we can stuff the owl.

  5. Small sdc10902 1260786880

Make a few snips round the curve of the owl, dont cut too far or you may cut your stitches by accident. This helps when you turn your owl inside out.

  6. Small sdc10903 1260786892

Turn the owl the right way and stuff with soft toy stuffing, cotton wool or even scraps of unwanted fabric.

  7. Small sdc10907 1260788667

Sew up along the bottom edge with an over and over stitch.

  8. Small sdc10909 1260788776

Cut out a heart shape for in felt for the owls face. I use white/ cream for the contrast.

  9. Small sdc10913 1260789288

Then sew on two buttons for eyes and a felt beak.

  10. Small sdc10916 1260789247

Sew the face onto the owl.
