About

I have tried time and again to learn how to knit and each time is an epic fail. When I found the tutorial on making an mp3 case out of macrame I was excited! Macrame is just a bunch of knot tying, and for those of you who have been to summer camp, you have probably used the technique is several gimp bracelets before. That part is easy peasy! I've made two, so I'm pretty pro, and would therefore like to impart some of my wisdom about this project.

It takes a long time, but I find it to be worth it. If you work while watching tv, in the car etc., you can finish it in two days, but it requires constant work.

Some tips to keep in mind: always knot longer than the length of the music player you're making the case for. In one of my cases, I knotted about 1/2-1 inch longer and it fit nicely, in the other I stopped knotting right at its length and it doesn't quite fit. Another thing to keep in mind is that some space at the bottom of the case will be taken up by the glued ends of the yarn (you can see it in one of the pictures I have uploaded).

If anyone is interested in me posting a less complicated tutorial, I may consider it! Post your interest and I will try working on it.
