The parts were leftover from the knitted cat I made they were supposed to be paws. I reckoned them rather strawberry looking... so... I made a strawberry pin, now I have one to add to my collection. (Wouldn't dare to waste perfect yarn ;p )
The parts were leftover from the knitted cat I made they were supposed to be paws. I reckoned them rather strawberry looking... so... I made a strawberry pin, now I have one to add to my collection. (Wouldn't dare to waste perfect yarn ;p )
supplies: - yellow, green and red yarn - scissors - stuffing - knitting needles - felt (I bought mine with glitter) - safety pin (preferably red and small) - needle
make two - cast on 12 stitches - knit 5 rows in stockinette stitch* *knit right side, purl wrong side of fabric* - purl 1 row, on next row (right side) cast off 1 stitch both sides. (at end of needle pull the last stitch over latter and then knit) repeat this 5 times, then cast off last 4 stitches.
take the safety pin and pull it through 3 rows down and 3 stitches from each side.
put right sides together and sew. turn inside out and loosely apply tiny seeds with yellow yarn or embroidery thread.
now fill it up and pull a string through top stitches, pull tight and fasten.
Make the top with felt or scraps of fabric.
Sew top on the strawberry, fasten it and pull the remaining thread through the middle. Put some glue on remaining thread (about 0,5") let dry, then cut off the excess - this 'way the stem won't unravel. now enjoy your strawberry all seasons!
