Step 1Before getting started, I highly suggest sorting your buttons by color. Not only does it help you feel a lot more organized about your crafty mess but it also helps spark inspiration. You’ll rediscover some forgotten favorites!

Step 2
Pick an initial you’d like to work with. Keep it simple! It’s easy to get ambitious and try a full word and become overwhelmed. Try a single letter first and then work your way up :)

Step 3
Place buttons on a piece of fabric of your choosing. You can use a scrap piece of fabric, felt, foam, or a precut bunting (you might have an extra from a kit lying around!)

Step 4
With your buttons in place, glue each button in its position. A glue gun works fairly well but you can also use Elmer’s glue if attaching to foam or felt.
