This is my second pair of earrings I made with sculpey. The blue color looks a bit odd, but is was rather dark when I made this picture.. It's supposed to be pastel blue (to match a playsuit I had just bought). Good luck!

Description

This is my second pair of earrings I made with sculpey. The blue color looks a bit odd, but is was rather dark when I made this picture.. It's supposed to be pastel blue (to match a playsuit I had just bought). Good luck!

Instructions

  1. By mixing colors, create the colors you want for the cupcakes. Make sure you don't use to much clay, because they are very small and you won't need much clay.

  2. Make a small cane (about 1 cm thick and 1,5 cm long) of brown clay. Cut it in half and using a knife or whatsoever, make small cuts along the side to create a bottom. Now gently roll them to make it round again because the probably got molded when you made the cuts (make sure not to push too hard, because that will make them too long).

  3. Now, make a very thin but long cane (about 2 mm thick) of blue (or whatever color you chose) for the topping and cut it in half.

  4. Take your metal, looped bar (to attach the earring hook to), and push it in the bottom. Leave enough height for the clay topping! (Btw, you can also choose to push it in after adding the topping)

  5. Starting at the sides, drape the string in a spiral shape (around the bar) over the bottom, into the middle and carefully cut of the extra clay.

  6. If you want to, you can add something like a berry to brighten it up a little bit. For the berry, you need to make two tiny balls. Gently push them on top of cupcake and punch a little hole in it with a pencil or skewer.

  7. Bake them as usual, attach the hooks and varnish them. Good luck and try not to eat them! :P
