• 

  Step 1

  This is the pattern I made and stitched.

• 

  Step 2

  I started from the center of the rose, used black embroidery thread.

• 

  Step 3

  Then I used shaded pink embroidery thread to cross stitch the rose.

• 

  Step 4

  Use the dark part of the shaded embroidery thread to cross stitch around the black center. After doing the first round of cross stitch around the center use the lighter part of the thread to do the second round of cross stitch.

  Step 5

  Now do another round of dark pink cross stitch and then fill the space with light shade.

• 

  Step 6

  You'll have to adjust the shade with the pattern.

• 

  Step 7

  When you're done cross stitching the center use the dark part of the thread to cross stitch the petals around the border of the rose. Count the number of cross stitches on the pattern and carefully cross stitch the petals.

  Step 8

  After cross stitching the border of the rose use the lighter shades of the embroidery thread to fill the rose with cross stitch.

• 

  Step 9

  I used shaded green embroidery thread for cross stitching the leaves. Start cross stitching each leaf from the side adjacent to the rose and cross stitch towards the other side.

  Step 10

  After completing the rose and the leaves I used shaded purple embroidery thread to cross stitch small flowers beside the rose.

• 

  Step 11

  Start cross stitching the flower from the center. You can add more details if you want to.

This would be nice to make a little sachet with potpourri, and a little gift bag!
