Crocheted Crafterella Cat Ears

You will need

Yarn Needle Crochet Hook (I used a 4.5mm hook) Wool (In pink and your main ear colour) Plastic Head Band

Just something quick I made...They look adorable on my little sisters and I rather like them myself

Instructions

1. Start with a slip knot and chain 7 then turn and single crochet in the second stitch from the hook. Single crochet along to the end and you should now have 6 stitches

2. Chain 1 and turn, crocheting back along for a second row of 6. Chain 1 and turn for a third row of 6. Chain 1 and turn for a fourth row of 6.

3. Chain 1 and turn, but now this is where we start to decrease. Put your hook in the first stitch, yarn over and pull through but do not finish this single crochet. Instead, push your hook with the loop still over it into the second stitch, yarn over and pull through (you should now have two loops on your hook). To finish the stitch, yarn over and pull through both loops (you have now decreased). Single crochet along the rest and you should now have 5 stitches

4. Chain 1 and turn then do another decrease just as in step 3. Finish single crocheting along to the end and you should now have 4 stitches

5. Chain 1 and turn then do another decrease just as in step 3. Finish single crocheting along to the end and you should now have 3 stitches

6. Yep, you guessed this step! Same as before, chain 1 and turn then do another decrease just as in step 3. Finish single crocheting along to the end and you should now have 2 stitches

7. For the last time, chain 1 and turn then do another decrease just as in step 3. Finish single crocheting along to the end and you should now have 1 stitch. Fasten off and leave a slight tail that you will weave in and hide later You will need to do this 4 times, twice in your ear colour (mine was brown), and twice in pink.

8. Take one of your four ears and crochet all around its edges in your main ear colour. This will ensure that the edges are neat and that they all fit together nicely.

9. Take one of your edged pinks and sew one of your other coloured ear parts onto the back of it then take this and sew it onto the hair band (the teeth of the hair band should help to keep it in place) Do this twice and you will have a finished pair of ears inspired by Crafterella!
