About

I love name necklaces but they can be so fiddly to make yourself. Luckily, using the Cricut it's as easy as can be and I've been making lots of them for my myself and my friends.

You Will Need (5 things)

  • Cricut
  • Clasp
  • Shrink Plastic
  • Jewelry Chain
  • 2 x Jump Ring(s)

Steps (10 steps, 20 minutes)

  1. 1

Open Cricut-Craft Room and select a font for your name. Drag each letter in to the design, making sure they're lined up neatly with each other and then overlap, so that the edge of each letter touches just enough to make your name a continuous shape.

This is also a great time to create a little charm to hang from your necklace.

  2. 2

Add a few holes to the top of the first and last letter, as well as one to the bottom of the last letter if you want to add a charm.

  3. 3

I taped my shrink plastic to the cutting mat around the edges to give it a bit more support.

Set the blade depth and the pressure to 5 and press cut.

  4. 4

    Cut out your shapes.

  5. 5

    Push out your shapes.

  6. 6

Place on a baking sheet covered in tin foil and shrink in an oven.

  7. 7

Leave the pieces to cool and then glue the pink paw prints to the paw.

  8. 8

Gather together three jump rings, a clasp and some jewellery chain.

  9. 9

Cut jewellery chain to the desired length and then cut in half. Attach to your name using two jump rings and attach the charm.

  10. 10

Attach a clasp and you're done!
