The wonderful thing about these cherry blossom branches is that it will last more than a few days and can be used as a centerpiece for your spring dining table, wedding event or baby shower. So many ideas and events this can be used for. These little crepe paper blossoms are so easy to make with just three colors of 180 gram crepe paper from Carti Fini. I used Sweet Pea for the pink, French Vanilla for the pale yellow and Lime Pulp for the spring green leaves. All you need along with these papers is a pair of scissors and a hot glue gun. You can find a branch in nature or at your local flower shop. Simply use a piece of florist foam in a small pot to stand the branch and cover the foam with green moss. Now your branch is ready to bloom. Follow my step-by-step tutorial below to make the cherry blossoms and you will find the printable pattern at the end of the post. Just download and print. Instructions

  1. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 192825 img 5523

Cut pieces of crepe paper in pink, green and yellow to fit the pattern. Each flower needs one yellow center, one green leaf and 3 pink petals.

  2. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 192830 img 5524

Use the edge of your scissors to break the grain in the center of all the pink petals and green leaves so that you can fold them in half.

  3. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 192835 img 5526

Cut the petals and leaves using your template and fringe the yellow centers.

  4. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 192918 img 5528

Cup the petals and leaves by molding the paper around your thumb to stretch out the grain a little. Roll your yellow center and secure with a dab of glue.

  5. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 192924 img 5529

Glue the three sets of petals on top of one another to create your bloom.

  6. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 192930 img 5530

Glue your leaf onto the back of your bloom.

  7. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 193040 img 5532

Glue the yellow center into the middle of the flower and separate out the fringe with your fingers to look like the stamen.

  8. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 193046 img 5533

Make as many blooms as you feel you need.

  9. Small 108314 2f2015 04 01 193052 img 5537

Glue them one by one to your branch. Feel free to play around with positioning before you commit to gluing the flowers in place. Enjoy! ~ Lia
