Description

This is the basic card making techniques used to create the card shown in the Soft Pastels Background Technique tutorial.

Instructions

  1. Small 109116 2f2015 05 29 193545 img 3884

Create the card base by cutting the cardstock to the size of the card you are wanting to make. This card is a 5" x 7" card.

  2. Small 109116 2f2015 05 29 193619 img 3860%2b 282 29

Cut a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than the card base. This sheet was cut to be 4 3/4" x 6 3/4" so it will leave a small area of the cardstock showing. Add some adhesive from the tape runner to the back of the paper.

  3. Small 109116 2f2015 05 29 193702 img 3861%2b 282 29

Adhere it to the front of the card.

  4. Small 109116 2f2015 05 29 193737 img 3862%2b 282 29

After creating the background using the Soft Pastels Background Technique, add some adhesive to the back of it and layer it on top of the patterned paper. This piece measures 4" x 6".

  5. Small 109116 2f2015 05 29 193748 img 3864%2b 282 29

Fussy cut the stamped butterfly that was colored from the Soft Pastels Technique and use a 3-d adhesive to attach it to the card. Stamp a sentiment onto the front using your favorite stamp to match the theme you are creating the card for using a black ink pad. Add a handwritten or stamped note to the inside of the card and it will be ready to be shared with someone special.
