What I love about this project is that it is very flexible on supplies: use any box you have and fill your zen garden with anything your heart desires. Here are some good ideas: sand, colored sand, pebbles, shells, candles, real or silk flowers,...
I used a simple wooden box, which I had stained, and bright colored sand...
...and added pebbles and mini glass candle holders...
...which I filled with a flower and candles...
