i just used fabric that mum had lying around so it was incredibly cheep.... infact it was FREE :)
chose a fabric for the under layer of the skirt. make sure it reaches around your waist more than once and gather it
now cut out a long rectangle peice that goes just a little bit more than around your waist. sew this to the gathered edge of the other peice
now cut lots of random colourful strips of fabric and sew these along the top of the skirt
fold the rectangle over to cover the raw edges of the fabric strips. now chose a zip and sew it down the edge and join the sides all the way down... DONE :) you can trim the strips off if you dont want them dangling down... it still looks really cute! :D
