Description

This simple wash cloth is quick and easy to crochet, a perfect project for warm weather days! The finished project makes a good wash cloth for your kitchen or bathroom, or alternatively can be used as a trivet or coaster for warm dishes. I am using US crochet terms for this pattern. You will be working in treble crochet stitch (tr), or in UK terms, double treble crochet stitch

Instructions

  1. using main colour of yarn, chain 27. chain an additional 4 (counts as 1st tr stitch)

  2. row 1: work in tr crochet stitch starting from the 4th chain from your hook, to end of row (28 stitches)

  3. row 2: turn work, chain 3 (counts as 1st tr stitch) and work one tr stitch into each stitch (28 stitches) repeat row 2 until you have 10 rows worked in tr crochet. cut yarn, weave tail through loop.

  4. switch to contrasting color of yarn. slip stitch into one of the corners of your work.

  5. *chain 3, skip one stitch, single crochet (SC) into 2nd stitch. repeat from * around your work until you have a complete border. end with a slip stitch into your first chain 1 space.
