I love looking for inspiration online and I came across really cool looking tiny earring posts from Urban Outfitters. I thought I could replicate the look on a bigger canvas (cabochon sized pendant) so I set out making it using cheapo materials.

I love looking for inspiration online and I came across really cool looking tiny earring posts from Urban Outfitters. I thought I could replicate the look on a bigger canvas (cabochon sized pendant) so I set out making it using cheapo materials.

Instructions

  1. Small cosmic1

Flood one side of your blank pendant with nail polish. Using a darker-colored nail polish works best as it will make your mylar flakes pop out. Wait for that to flatten and dry.

  2. Small cosmic2

Get some clear polish and give the pendant a thin coat, just enough for your mylar flakes to stick to.

  3. Small cosmic3

Add your mylar flakes. Mylar flakes are just the flakies you get for nail art at the dollar store (sometimes) or online.

  4. Small cosmic4

Sprinkle at random spots until you get the look that you want. Don't touch and wait for that layer to dry as well.

  5. Small cosmic5

Take your clear polish and coat the pendant twice with it, waiting for each layer to dry before applying the next to prevent excessive bubbling. If you want to skip this step, just use a round cabochon the size of your bezel.

  6. Small cneck3

Assemble your chain and thread your pendant in - and you're done!
