Once in a great while you'll find a unique piece that makes a perfect pendant. You'll wish you could make twenty copies, but you can't, of course. Well, sometimes wishes do come true, and a Melting Pot can make it happen. You can make as many "copies" of your pendant, charm or knickknack as you like in just about any color under the rainbow. However, I would not recommend sitting on this copy machine in a skirt.

Instructions

  1. Small 18580

Choose an object for molding Choose an object with a smooth surface and with a design that is not too terribly intricate with which to make your mold. It should be something that will leave a strong, clear impression in the molding material.

  2. Small 18597

Mix 2-part molding agent Mix equal parts of the 2-part molding agent together in your hands.

  3. Small 18598

Make Mold Shape the mixed molding agent into a rough ball and flatten it out on your work surface into a small pancake shape. Press the object you've chosen face down into the molding agent. Hold the object there with firm pressure for about 1 minute while the mold sets.

  4. Small 18599

Remove charm from mold Remove the object from the molding agent, revealing the finished mold.

  5. Small 18600

Pour in UTEE powder and melt Follow the manufacturer's instructions for heating up the UTEE in the Melting Pot. The hotter the UTEE, the faster it flows when you pour, so melt it thoroughly and cool it slightly for a more steady pour into your mold.

  6. Small 18601

Mix in flex Add some flex to the melted UTEE. Allow 1 scoop of flex for every 4 scoops of UTEE. Mix the substances together with a disposable stirring stick to blend them thoroughly.

  7. Small 18602

Pour mixture into mold Pour the mixture in the Melting Pot into the mold. Allow the mixture to rest for about 2 minutes, or until it's cool to the touch. Tap the back of your poured pendant to make sure it has cooled and hardened.

  8. Small 18603

Remove finished charm from mold Pop the charm out of the mold. Drill a hole at the top of the charm, if desired. Link the pendant to a length of chain with a jump ring to make a necklace. Hot tip: If your finished object comes out badly, with bubbles or other imperfections, you can just put it right back in the Melting Pot and start over.
