Use up the free, or cheap fabric flowers that come with costumes or whatever.....
I really wanted a new flower for my hair, and had been meaning to buy one, as I can't make them look the same from scratch, then at the back of my drawer, I found some old, unnatractively shaped flowers, which I turned into this!

Repeat the above for all the flowers you have - I had four with 2 petal group things each. These were a group of 3 joined slimmer petals, and a group of 2 joined wider petals. The 2 miniture red things were from the centre of the pink petals, they appear in yellow in the step above.

Make holes in all the petals (mine were pre-made) and slide all the petals on to a long pin, so you can adjust them until you get a fairly good idea of the size and shape of the finished flower.

    Step 10

Keeping a long loose end of the thread untied at the bottom of the flower, stitch your button into the middle of the top, then bring the thread down through the hole and tie the loose end to it. (This just means you have a bit more flexibility and makes it easier to start sewing)

    Step 11

Take the remaining thread through the piece of felt on the hairclip, and stitch it tightly to the centre. then sew the edge of the felt onto the first layer of petals.

  • Step 12

Tie off the thread, and trim the fllower to your satisfaction. Wear with pride!
