Start with a double layer of white nail polish, or however much it takes to make it opaque. However, you may not have to worry if you make a mistake because you can cover up any errors with a dot.
Either take the top off a clickable plastic pen and remove the ink well so it's just the outside tube, or retract the ink and just use the tip of the pen (the nail polish might clog the pen though so that it won't write anymore). Then dip the tip in colored nail polish, remove any excess, and create about 3-4 dots on the nail. Other utensils can be used, but a hollow pen tube is what I used.
In the spaces around the larger dots, create smaller dots with a toothpick or paper clip. It's that simple, if you have any questions, please comment.
