Instructions

  1. Small mj1011pcfig1.lowres 1285077317

Cut the clasp section off of a hanging hoop. Bend the end around into a loop. Remove the jump rings from four and a half clusters. Thread onto the hanging hoop. Bend the end into a loop and close.

  2. Small mj1011pcfig2.lowres 1285077326

With the round nosed part of the pliers, bend the eyepin around to make five loops in a row. Make sure that the end is neatly curled in. Bend the two outside loops up slightly. Cut a 2.5cm length of chain, attach a 5mm jump ring and join to the centre loop of the eyepin.

  3. Small mj1011pcfig3.lowres 1285077337

With a jump ring attach a gun metal dagger to the other end. Cut two 1cm lengths, attach to the loops either side of the centre. Attach black daggers to the bottom. With a jump ring attach a gun metal dagger to each end loop.

  4. Small mj1011pcfig4.lowres 1285077347

Attach an eyepin to each end of the looped section, bend the other ends of the eyepins into loops in the same direction as the eyepin. Cut 1cm of chain, attach a black dagger with a jump ring to one end. Cut a second 1cm length, attach a jump ring through an eyepin, the length of chain with the dagger the second eyepin and the second length of chain. Close the jump ring.

  5. Small mj1011pcfig5.lowres 1285077355

Cut two 3cm lengths of chain, attach a jump ring to the end of each and join to the loops of the hanging hoop. Open a jump ring, attach one 3cm length, the 1cm loop attached to the central section, the second length of chain and a long ballwire. Close the jump ring.

  6. Small mj1011pcfig6.lowres 1285077366

Hang the earring onto something (I used the side of a mug) and place the straight eyepins between the bell clusters. When hanging in the centre attach each eyepin to the hanging hoops between the clusters with the small jump rings removed from the clusters earlier.

  7. Small mj1011pcfigncklcelowres 1285077407

To make the necklace Cut two 15cm lengths of chain; attach a 5mm jump ring and a trigger to one end and a 5mm jump ring to each of the other ends. Follow step 1 to make the centre of the necklace and make two more hanging hoop loops using three clusters on each. Trim the hanging hoop 1cm above the clusters, bend into a loop and close. Join the three sections together with 5mm jump rings and attach the chains to the outside loops. Follow steps 2 and 3 to make three beaded sections, make one the same and alternate the colour ways on the remaining two so that the centre is black on the two outside sections. Attach an eyepin to each end of the looped section, trim 1.5cm above the loop bend, place eyepin between the bell clusters and close the loop. Repeat to hang in the centre of each cluster loop.
