Description

Go back to your childhood with this friendship bracelet update! All you need are some decorative rings and some embroidery thread.

Instructions

  1. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200024 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 5

Take two of the rings side by side and thread a 20cm length of your embroidery thread under where the two rings meet in the middle.

  2. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200035 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 6

    Tie an overhand knot

  3. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200100 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 7

Wrap the thread around over the knot you just made, 3-5 times. Tie another overhand knot to secure the wraps.

  4. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200119 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 8

Apply a small amount of glue to the knot and trim off the excess.

  5. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200203 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 9

Add another ring in the same way, so you have three in a row.

  6. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200308 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 10

Cut a 40cm length of thread, fold it in half and push the fold up through one of the end rings. Pull the other loose ends of the threads up through the loop and pull tight. This is called a larks heads knot.

  7. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200340 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 11

Repeat with another 2x 40cm stands of thread, so you have three sets of two.

  8. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200438 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 12

Secure the rings to your table with some tape or a clip, and braid or plait the three sets of threads together.

  9. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200454 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 13

When you get near the ends, tie an overhand knot and fray the ends by combing them through your fingers. Trim to neaten.

  10. Small 107072 2f2015 01 25 200509 circle%2bthread%2bbracelet 14

Repeat steps 6 – 9 on the other side to complete your bracelet!
