Description

Relatively simple to sew - makes a fabulous stocking filler. Based on a design by paper-and-string.

Instructions

  1. Small 105630 2f2014 11 16 213604 robin1

Cut two of A in light brown felt to make the robin's body. Cut one of B in red felt to make the breast. Cut two of C for the legs and feet. Cut one of D for the beak. The scale is up to you, but I'd say a good size would be to fit him in the palm of your hand.

  2. Small 105630 2f2014 11 16 213617 robin2

Stitch B on one layer of A in backstitch.

  3. Small 105630 2f2014 11 16 213626 robin3

Sew on little assorted red buttons.

  4. Small 105630 2f2014 11 16 213637 robin4

Stitch on D in backstitch, position as a beak. Use black brads or seed beads for the eyes.

  5. Small 105630 2f2014 11 16 213648 robin5

Sew on the other layer of A in backstitch close to the edges. Sew a small length of folded ribbon for a hanger and the two C's for legs as you work your way around. Make sure you leave a small gap to stuff your robin, then sew up the hole.

And here he is! Mine is called Mister Redford.
